According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to just a few calls between Tuesday, March 28, and Saturday April 1, including a single-vehicle injury accident.
Saturday, April 1
Deputies stopped a vehicle on State Road 224 for following another vehicle too closely and cited the passenger for an open container. After deputies found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, the driver was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of paraphernalia and marijuana.
Dispatch received a report about an intoxicated man at a home in the Basin. When deputies arrived, he was reportedly unable to walk or stand on his own and was arrested on preliminary charges of intoxication, and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
A man contacted dispatch after he found seven blasting caps and wires in the Chalk Creek area. The Unified Fire Authority Bomb Squad responded and detonated the items.
Friday, March 31
Several manhole covers belonging to Summit County Service Area No. 3 were reportedly stolen from a Basin road.
Thursday, March 30
A man reportedly suffered a seizure while driving on a North Summit road. Witnesses saw his vehicle drift over the center line, causing it to cross a yard and strike a tree. The driver sustained injuries to his leg and was transported via ambulance to an area hospital.
Wednesday, March 29
No significant incidents were reported.
Tuesday, March 28
A blue Werner ladder and a large pair of work lights were reportedly taken from an unfinished home in the Basin.
