Sheriff’s Report: $26,000 worth of tools and equipment reported stolen

Approximately $26,000 worth of tools and equipment were reported missing from a site in the Snyderville Basin on Friday, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
The suspects reportedly cut the locks to a gate to enter the property and then accessed a mobile trailer. An investigation is ongoing.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies also responded to numerous other calls between Sunday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 29, including several suspected cases of theft.
Saturday, Oct. 29
Deputies stopped a vehicle on a Basin road and cited two passengers for possession of marijuana.
An Apple tablet was reportedly stolen from a vehicle while it was in a Kimball Junction business parking lot.

Thursday, Oct. 27
Someone broke a glass door to a business in the Basin and stole approximately $2,500.
Dispatch received a report from a Basin man that a man acting suspiciously rang his doorbell asking for water. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect.
Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on a Basin road and cited the driver for driving without a license.
Deputies stopped a vehicle for not having current registration on a Basin road and arrested the driver on preliminary charges of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Wednesday, Oct. 26
Dispatch received a report from a man that two ATVs were stolen from a North Summit garage. An investigation is ongoing.
A Trek bicycle, and a pair of Solomon and Dynastar skis were reported stolen from a Basin home.
Tuesday, Oct. 25
A woman contacted dispatch after she noticed her purse was missing while at a business in the Kimball Junction area. A woman was arrested on preliminary charges of theft.
A North Summit man reported his black Big Bubba flatbed trailer was his home. An investigation is ongoing.
Monday, Oct. 24
Deputies arrested a man driving on U.S. 40 on preliminary charges of driving on a revoked license and without insurance.
A South Summit man contacted dispatch claiming someone removed gas from two of his vehicles while they were parked near his home.
Deputies arrested a man at a dog park in the Basin on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after dispatch received a report of someone acting suspiciously.
Sunday, Oct. 23
Someone found a grey key that belongs to a Toyota vehicle hanging on the map at the entrance of the East Canyon Trailhead.
Employees at a business in the Kimball Junction area contacted dispatch claiming four people were acting suspiciously. Deputies arrested one man for an outstanding warrant.
A South Summit cabin was allegedly burglarized for a third time this year. An investigation is ongoing.
A North Summit man who was allegedly hit in the face with a phone asked deputies to tell the suspect not to return to his home.
Dispatch received a report that a window had been broken at a North Summit cabin. No items were reported missing.
