In this week’s Sheriff’s Report, a deputy responded to a 911 hang-up call in the Basin on Sunday, March 3 and discovered a domestic violence situation. The male was charged with aggravated assault domestic violence and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
Also on Sunday, a Kimball Junction resident told deputies he left his garage door open and later discovered his bike and multiple pairs of skis were missing.
Deputies responded to assist a South Summit female who was unresponsive after drinking and taking pills. She was determined to be a danger to herself and was transported to the University of Utah.
While serving a warrant to a Kimball Junction male, deputies smelled marijuana. The male gave consent to remove marijuana from inside his camper. He was arrested for warrants and drug charges.
On Saturday, March 2, two men who were snowmobiling in the Elizabeth Lake area became stranded when their snowmobiles broke down. They were able to start a fire until Search and Rescue located them.
Several tire and wheel thefts were reported at a condominium complex in the Kimball Junction area.
On Friday, March 1, a deputy pulled a vehicle over on U.S. 40 for a revoked driver’s license. The driver was found to also have warrants and was arrested for the warrants.
On Thursday, Feb. 28, a bus driver reported a male slumped over at an S.R. 224 bus stop. A deputy arrived on scene and discovered the male was intoxicated. The male gave the deputy false personal information and resisted arrest. While being transported to jail, he took his seatbelt off and slammed his head against the vehicle’s cage and injured his forehead. He required stitches and was transported to the Park City Medical Center. He faces charges of intoxication, resisting arrest and proving false personal information.
A deputy pulled a vehicle over on S.R. 224 and discovered the driver was intoxicated. The driver provided the deputy with his brother’s driver’s license. He was placed under arrest for DUI. He faces charges of DUI, providing false information, driving on an expired driver’s license and a warrant. It’s his fourth DUI in 10 years.
On Wednesday, Feb. 27, a theft was reported at a ski resort. Deputies planned to arrest him at work, but the suspect was tipped off by a co-worker and did not come to work.
Someone smashed a car window in the Basin and took a purse. Only makeup was in the purse, and nothing else from the car was stolen.
Another car window was broken in the Basin. A Louis Vuitton purse and wallet were stolen. Credit cards from the wallet were used at several locations in Salt Lake City.
On Tuesday, Feb. 26 a driver was pulled over in South Summit and was found to have a warrant out of Wasatch County. He was arrested and turned over to Wasatch County.
On Monday, Feb. 25, someone spray painted a crude image on a stairwell wall of a Basin apartment complex.
A man reported that when he was fueling his vehicle in Park City, he found sugar in the gas tank. He believes the sugar was placed there the previous evening at a Kimball Junction condominium complex.
Deputies pulled a vehicle over on Interstate 80 for speeding. The driver had multiple warrants and was arrested.
A Basin woman reported that while she was out of town, her teenage daughter had a party in her house and several items were taken, including a laptop.
Deputies responded to a domestic violence call and found several items around the home broken. The male was arrested for domestic violence criminal mischief.

S.R. 224 will fail in five years if no improvements are made, even if there is no more growth at the base area, according to an engineer.
