A naked 23-year-old male was tased by Summit County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday at a south Snyderville Basin hotel after staff reported the man was disturbing other guests, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s call logs.
The man was transported to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City and involuntarily committed. The report states the case will be screened for multiple charges through the county attorney’s office.
Deputies went to the hotel after dispatch received a call at approximately 5:44 p.m. about an intoxicated male, the report states. When deputies arrived, they witnessed the man screaming and acting aggressively.
When an attempt was made to arrest him, he began fighting and resisting. Deputies deployed a Taser, which took the man to the ground, and handcuffed him.
On the nightstand in the room, nine pill capsules were recovered. The capsules were taken to the Sheriff’s Office and tests determined the substance was a derivative of ecstasy.

Monday, May 11
Deputies responded to the Tanger Outlets after dispatch received reports of a voyeur. The victim notified dispatch that an unknown adult male took a photograph underneath her skirt. Deputies were not able to locate the male and there is no suspect information.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office called to request a welfare check in the Rockport area Saturday on a person who suffers from multiple mental illnesses, as well as other problems. It was reported that the suspect was armed and had made suicidal threats. Deputies circulated the area, as well as Weber Canyon, without locating him. The suspect was reportedly driving a white Toyota Tacoma and in possession of weapons. According to the Sheriff’s report the suspect has no known ties, family or friends in Summit County. However, the suspect was found sleeping in his vehicle Monday in Heber City with a loaded weapon and was involuntarily admitted to Evanston Regional Medical Center.
Sunday, May 10
A North Summit man reported that he has had five calves die in one week. Deputies found there is nothing to support the deaths are suspicious, but the man requested extra patrols in the area.
Friday, May 8
An unknown suspect took a 250 gallon propane tank from a North Summit property on April 18. While investigating a possible brush fire in North Summit, deputies discovered a man had started a controlled burn notifying dispatch. The man was located at his residence and cited under a county ordinance.
An unknown suspect stole a bag of tools and two knives from an unlocked vehicle in the north Snyderville Basin.
Dispatch received reports that two suspects purposely ran their electric Razor brand motorcycles into two victims at Parley’s Park Elementary School. Deputies located the suspects and contacted their legal guardians.
