The North Summit Fire District responded to calls of a structure fire at a barn in Wanship early Tuesday morning. At 4:10 a.m., crews responded to the barn and were able to free all large animals, according to North Summit Fire Public Information Officer Tyler Rowser.

North Summit Fire crews, who had found the barn fully engulfed in flames upon arrival, were able to guide all large animals into an outside corral space. Small ducks and geese present in the barn were lost, however, as were roughly 1,000 bales of hay.

As of 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Rowser said crews were still present on the fire, as the Utah State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. There were no personal injuries to firefighters or homeowners as a result of the incident.
