‘The Fantasticks’ auditions set

Park City’s Egyptian Theatre announces Auditions for their upcoming production of "The Fantasticks." Terence Goodman will direct the show with choreography by Janet Gray. Musical director will be Anne Puzey.

Equity guest artist, Dennis Parlato, from "The Fantasticks" in New York City , will star in this production, recreating his role as the infamous and flamboyant El Gallo.

Roles available are as follows:

Matt, in his early 20s, is intellectually curious, bright, clean cut and all American

Two highly comedic fathers in their late 30s to late 40s, must dance or move well.

The old actor, a pompous, well-traveled older character that has a flair for the Shakespearean style.

Mortimer, a physical, broad comedian who is the old actor’s sidekick that plays the fake Indian, and has a knack for slap stick.

The mime, played in this production as a ballerina dancer. Ballet training a plus, dance a must.

All must sing, (except Mime), very well in a operetta style, and all must move well.

Actors auditioning should be prepared to sing 16 bars from the show or a song in the style of the show and be prepared to move.

All must bring a stapled picture and resume.

Auditions will be held May 20 at the Utah Opera Studios, 336 N 400 West, in Salt Lake City from 6 to 8 p.m., May 22, Egyptian Studios in the Main Street Mall, 345 Main St., Park City, from 1 p.m. to 3 p .m. From the north entrance, take the elevator down one level.

Rehearsals will run Aug. 15 to 27 and 29 and the show will open Sept. 8.
