Rock the food drive
Park City’s rock band, Muddpuddle, will host its annual food drive Today, Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Spur Bar and Grill on 350 ½ Main St. The event is in conjunction with the Utah Food Bank and occurs annually, the night before Thanksgiving. The cover charge for the food drive is 3 cans of food. The performance begins at 9 p.m.
Master puppeteer to perform at Santy
Master puppeteer Freddie Spencer, also known as "The Stringman," will perform at the Santy Auditorium at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24, before the Park City Film Series screening. Spencer has worked with special effects and puppetry for Francis Ford Coppola on "Bram Stoker’s Dracula," with Tim Burton on "Beetlejuice," and with the creators of "South Park" on "Team America: World Police." His act will feature his comedic lounge lizard, "Lennie Bobo Burns," his marionette "Trixi Nice," and other characters he has created. The auditorium is located at 1255 Park Ave.
Inflatable Theater Co. will come to Eccles
Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Company will perform at the Eccles Center tonight at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater employs floating, wiggling and cavorting blobs made of parachutes in its routines. The company has appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman." The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Center for the Performing Arts is located at 1750 Kearns Boulevard. Healing through the Wavegarden
Carlos Michael and LeAnn Eriksson will host a healing session at The Shop Yoga Studio at 1167 Woodside Ave. on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m.
Michael and Eriksson argue that modern lives are so packed with thought and activity, that little room is left to breathe. Wavegarden is a group based in Germany that has crystal bowls and wooden and silver flutes at its core. The group believes vibrations from the bowls resonate with the water cells to bring the brain’s hemispheres into snyc.
The price is $12 in advance and $15 at the door. There will be a potluck at 6 p.m. Call (435) 649-9339 for more information.
