The Colby School Garden Club will sponsor a spring plant sale from 3-5 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 21. Give the garden a head start this spring with beautiful heirloom tomatoes in gallon pots. There will be a variety of vegetable plants, herbs and flowers for sale. These plants are organically grown and good for the Earth. All proceeds will benefit the school garden program. Get a book
The Friends of the Summit County Libraries will hold their annual used book sale this week at the Kimball Junction Library at 6505 N. Landmark Dr. The sale begins on Thursday, May 22 with a "Members’ Night" from 5 to 8 p.m. Memberships and renewals are $10 and allow individuals to get first pick for thousands of books. The sale is open to the public on Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, May 26, is "Bargain Day," where the public is invited to bring a bag and fill it for $3. All proceeds support library acquisitions and programs.
Moving? Take advantage of the box re-use program
Recycle Utah’s Moving Box Program encourages the community to re-use cardboard boxes. Donate used moving boxes to Recycle Utah, located at 1951 Woodbine Way. The moving box warehouse is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. For more information, call (435) 649-9698.

The Swaner EcoCenter invites all Summit County students to participate in the Swaner Nature Festival Art Challenge. The 2008 themes are Swaner Wildlife and You and Nature. All art will be displayed and winners announced at the June 21 Swaner Nature Festival. Prizes will be awarded for each grade level.
