The schedule of official 2002 Olympic Games 10th anniversary celebrations


All events except "Stars on Ice" are free to the public

  • Feb. 8-11 Relighting the Flame, Cauldron Park at Rice-Eccles Stadium. A ceremonial relighting of the 2002 cauldron will take place Wednesday, Feb. 8, and the flame will remain lit through Saturday, Feb. 11.
  • Feb. 9 Utah Olympic Park Community Celebration, Utah Olympic Park, Park City. Olympic and Paralympic Athletes from the 2002 Winter Games will be at the Utah Olympic Park from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Feb. 17 Kearns Community Celebration, Utah Olympic Oval, Kearns. The event that runs from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. will feature sport exhibitions, a torch relighting with past and present speed-skating athletes, photo opportunities, autograph signings and a figure-skating performance with the Children of Light.
  • Feb. 18 Olympic Sport Festival at the Gateway Center, Salt Lake City. Relight the memories of the 2002 Olympic Games with this family-friendly outdoor festival that will run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Interactive sport demonstrations and various commemorative displays will highlight the event as Olympic and Paralympic athletes meet the public.
  • Feb. 18 A Tribute to Salt Lake City with "Stars on Ice," Energy Solutions Arena, Salt Lake City. Sarah Hughes, the ladies single gold medalist of the 2002 Winter Games, will be among the athletes who will perform. Tickets range from $20 to $125 and are available by visiting
