Vandal destroys sign outside Main Street photo gallery
Someone destroyed a sign that hangs outside the Mangelsen Images of Nature Gallery on Main Street in the overnight hours between Sunday and Monday.
Laura Alleman, the photography gallery’s director, said the vandalism occurred sometime after 8 p.m. on Sunday. The sign, which is split in half, remained hanging Tuesday.
The sign is made of foam, and it cost approximately $800 to make and install. Alleman said the bottom of the sign is a little more than eight feet above the sidewalk.
She said a similar sign at a nearby business was destroyed in the same fashion earlier.
"Two weekends in a row. Two businesses right next to each other," Alleman said, adding, "It wasn’t an accident."
The case was reported to the Park City Police Department. Alleman said she hopes to replace the sign shortly.

The Christian Center of Park City had a makeover last year, and its boutique felt it was time for one, too.
