Wedding announcement

Harry and Sydney Reed, longtime residents of Park City, are happy to announce the marriage of their daughter, Penelope Sloane Reed to William Andrew Johnson at the Silver Lake Lodge in Deer Valley, Saturday, September 20, 2008. Charles Johnson, the groom’s father, attended from Pittsburgh, as did his mother, Patty Beegle, from Park City. At 4:30 p.m. there was an hour and a half break in the rain, when Sloane and Bill’s longtime friend, Chad Johnson, performed the wedding ceremony. Sloane’s Maid of Honor was her sister, Whitney Reed. Bill’s Best Man was his brother, Charlie Johnson.

Bill designed the wedding table, inlaid with the Compass Rose, and the arch under which they were married. Sloane wore her Mother’s wedding dress, remade for her by Tina Lewis, and her great grandmother’s necklace worn by her in 1917. Sloane’s wedding band had been in Bill’s family since 1779. Amidst these traditions, family and friends celebrated with dinner and dancing at the Silver Lake Lodge.

The couple has known each other since the age of 14 when they met in Park City. Bill is a graduate from The Chippendale International School of Furniture and designs and builds fine furniture. Sloane, with a nursing degree from Montana State University, is working as an Intensive Care Unit nurse at the University of Utah. The couple will reside in Park City after returning from their honeymoon in Morocco.
