A bomb scare forced the evacuation of the Sky Lodge and a nearby Marriott Summit Watch building on Sunday morning, the Park City Police Department said.
Phil Kirk, a police captain, said a maintenance worker noticed a package close to a building at the Summit Watch. It was shaped like a cylinder and taped to a tree with duct tape and electrical tape, he said.
The police evacuated people from the Sky Lodge and the pool house at the Summit Watch. A bomb squad from Salt Lake City was called to the scene. The bomb squad used a specially designed X-ray machine to investigate. Kirk said the object was a pinhole-style camera. The police took it into evidence.
Kirk said a person staying at the Summit Watch later claimed the camera and said it was being used for a school project.
