Youth programs canceled in Park City

By Patrick Parkinson Of the Record staff

Youth programs in Park City and the Snyderville Basin were canceled Thursday as officials braced for more possible swine flu cases to emerge on the West Side of Summit County.

City Hall canceled recreation and library programs through May 4, according to spokeswoman Phyllis Robinson.

Youth programs scheduled at Basin Recreation Field House are canceled until further notice, Field House manager Matt Strader said in a prepared statement.

The Park City Library is open and the Field House is holding adult classes and drop-in fitness, according to Robinson.

"We’re getting a lot of calls for rumor control, and some concerned parents," said Katie Mullaly, a spokeswoman for the Summit County Health Department. "Our nurses at the health department are also getting a lot of calls."
