I’m Dave Ure, your Republican candidate for Senate District 26. As a lifelong rancher, I understand the precious commodity that is our rural lifestyle. I am committed to preserving our way of life while building for our future. As an experienced rural business owner, I’ve earned an honest living by the sweat of my brow. Basically, I’m just like you.
I’m an experienced, respected member of the Utah Legislature. For the past fourteen years, I’ve advocated for YOU by:
Preserving our Way of Life: I’ve assisted local communities with rural planning and development challenges.
Investing in rural education: I’ve passed legislation to empower rural teachers to achieve additional higher education.
Simplifying the income tax: I’ve supported income tax reform to ensure fair taxation for ALL Utahns.
Protecting our water supply: I’ve created groundwater management plans to better manage our water resources.
Developing our infrastructure: I have appropriated monies to rural communities to address local transportation needs.
Promoting energy development: I’ve supported research of new tar-sands and oil shale technology in the Uintah Basin.
Demanding integrity from elected officials: I sponsored a bill to require that legislators declare conflicts of interest before voting.
Building our future: I have supported devoting money to the Uintah Basin Reinvestment Fund to offset the impacts of natural resource extraction in Basin.
As parents of four children (with two grandchildren), my wife and I are committed to our community. With your trust and vote, I pledge to honorably represent your values and priorities in the Utah State Senate.
