Guest editorial: Hendricksen is a friend and good lawman
My name is Mark Harding. I am a police officer for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. It is an honor for me to write this letter of reference for Kris Hendricksen. I have known Kris for over 30 years. Kris and I returned home approximately the same time from our LDS missions. Kris and I met through our wife’s friendship. He is a family man and has a wonderful wife of over 30 years. They are great examples in the community. He has chosen values that have made him an example and a leader throughout his life.
Kris and I chose the same line of work using our qualities and abilities to serve in our communities. As a police officer I know the type of person it takes to qualify to become one. Integrity is one of the most important of all qualities a person can have. I have known Kris to exemplify this in all aspects of his life. He has always been honest when dealing with other people. Kris has always been goal-oriented knowing exactly what career he wanted and worked hard to achieve it. He is always trying to improve himself moving up in the different areas of police work and continuing his education. Kris is a people person always striving to help and serve others. His qualities and personality have always been his strength. During our conversations he has always shown concern and love for other people. I have never known Kris to tear down others. He is always striving to be positive wanting to help those who are in need of help.
Kris has exemplified the type of person he is by making good decisions in his life. He started by choosing the right partner who is also gifted with the same positive attitude and goals that you want in leadership. I know with this election year, I want a person that will make tough decisions that will benefit my family for the future. Someone that has the same values and goals that will only benefit and help my family. Someone that can see things the way they are and can make changes when needed. Kris has had experience making tough decisions. He has made tough decisions in his career. These decisions are not taken lightly and are made taking the community and people involved in consideration. It takes a special person who will think about all involved and not just go through the motions of doing the job.
Kris is someone you can trust and be proud of to serve in the community. He has all the qualities and ability to make him a great sheriff. These qualities will always be an asset to Kris and others who are looking for someone to make a positive change in the community. Without question I highly recommend Kris Hendricksen for the position of Sheriff and know he will be a valuable asset while serving the community.
