Time to improve Snow Park

To the Park City Planning Commission: I have owned a unit at Lakeside condos for almost 40 years. Over that time there has been continued growth and development of lodging and amenities in the valley.

Each step was deplored by many as too much or changing the lifestyle. Yet each has been integrated into our use and enjoyment of Park City and Deer Valley. Now we have Deer Valley seeking to improve the Snow Park parking area — basically pursuing rights that were granted well before I bought my unit.

I urge that the development proceed with reasonable accommodations and mitigations to protect the legitimate interests of the residents of Deer Valley and Park City.

The Lakeside HOA recent asked the owners to participate in a survey which included issues about the Deer Valley development. I set forth below my comments in the survey.

“I welcome the DV addition. The current lot is an eyesore and provides nothing to enjoying the valley. The addition of stores, restaurants and lodging will make the area an attractive center for all. I think the issue of the top section of DV drive is a phony issue. Rather than oppose it we should focus on getting the best mitigation on traffic and the environment. Don’t stop the project, but fight for mitigations. Do not put any money into Protect the Loop.”
