Jay Hamburger

Jay Hamburger is the Park City reporter for The Park Record, a position he has held since 1997. He grew up in metropolitan Kansas City before attending Syracuse University for undergraduate and graduate school. Hamburger has covered some of the most notable events of Park City’s modern era, including the 2002 Winter Olympics, the Flagstaff-Empire Pass and Treasure development disputes as well as the lawsuit that led to the sale of Park City Mountain Resort to Vail Resorts. He has won 30 statewide journalism awards for his coverage of topics like homelessness, immigration, the Olympic bribery scandal and housing. He has twice been named Reporter of the Year in The Park Record’s circulation category by the Utah chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
