Area girls’ basketball teams exit playoffs
Kanab 57, South Summit 51 (OT)
Only three players scored for Kanab on Friday night at Orem High School, but the Lady Cowboys still managed to defeat the Wildcats in overtime, 57-51.
Whitney Houston led the way for Kanab, notching 21 points to lead all scorers. Kaitlyn Glover added 18 points and Shaylee McDonald had 17.
Jamie McNeil and McKaye Woolstenhulme each scored 12 points to pace the Wildcats.
Parowan 48, North Summit 39
Parowan’s Chennin Benson scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead her team to a 48-39 win over North Summit on Friday night.
Taucia Rowley scored 12 points and McKinsey Smith had six points and 10 boards to help Benson.
Kasidee Evans had 10 points to lead the Braves. Haylee McQueen knocked down two threes and had eight total points in the loss.
Uintah 51, Park City 37
Carson Lyman scored 15 points in her final game for Park City High School, but the Miners couldn’t overcome a tough Uintah attack, losing 51-37 on Feb. 12 in the Region 10 play-in game at Duchesne High School.
Hannah Schluker added 10 points for the Miners.
Erin Elder led the way for the Utes, notching 19 points in the win. Teammate Rachel Wright added 12 points.
