Deer Valley sets summer schedule
May 27, 2016
Deer Valley Resort has announced its summer offerings available for guests seeking an invigorating summer getaway. From extensive investments in the resort’s mountain biking trail system and vitalizing hikes among the aspens to fine dining and renowned open-air evening concerts, Deer Valley delivers mountain fun all summer long. The resort’s daily summer operations begin June 17 and run through Sept. 5; then on weekends only through Sept. 18, weather and conditions permitting.
"Summers at Deer Valley are all about creating memories," said Bob Wheaton, president and general manager of Deer Valley Resort, "whether it’s heart-pumping mountain biking, exquisite dining, acclaimed concerts and opportunities aimed to connect with nature and rejuvenate the senses in mild mountain temperatures."
Last summer, Deer Valley Resort embarked on its largest-ever summer investment to modernize and update its existing mountain biking/hiking trail inventory. That effort delivered the highly successful intermediate "flow" trail, Tidal Wave. Continuing this summer, the resort is building a new beginner "flow" trail, Holy Roller, to offer an even greater mountain biking experience for all abilities and families.
Additionally, the start of the IMBA Epic Mid-Mountain Trail is near the base of Deer Valley’s Sterling Express chairlift and next to Silver Lake Lodge. Deer Valley has three lifts to access more than 8,100 feet of elevation and an extensive trail network. With hiking trails, cross-country trails and technical downhill trails, Deer Valley is the original web of diverse single track in Park City. The resort’s website (http://www.deervalley.com) provides detailed information on mountain biking and hiking/scenic ride lift ticket rates, as well as information on bike rentals, clinics and tours. Summer chairlifts operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (conditions permitting) and ample free parking is available at Snow Park Lodge.
Summer in the mountains wouldn’t be what it is without a spectacular lineup of renowned singers, songwriters and musicians filling the night sky at Deer Valley’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Tickets are on sale now for a full calendar of shows performed multiple times a week that make up the resort’s annual summer concert series. Summer acts to date include Jewel, Chris Botti with Lucia Micarelli, Broadway’s Doug Labrecque, Matthew Morrison, Trace Adkins, the B-52s and many more. To complement any evening concert, Deer Valley features gourmet picnic baskets or bags filled with delicious epicurean items from Deer Valley’s kitchens, with options for children, single bags and gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian meals.
For refueling from summertime activities, Deer Valley offers four dining options. For guests and visitors looking to grab a quick bite, the Silver Lake Snack Shack offers wrap sandwiches, picnic snacks, beverages, beer, desserts and ice cream sandwiches. The shack is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
