The Park City Miners will be returning home tomorrow, where they will push for consecutive 3-0 starts to seasons when facing off against the Dixie Flyers. The Miners are doing so looking to back up a wire-to-wire road-opening victory over the Timpanogos Timberwolves, who look to be a stiffer test than the currently-winless Flyers.

The game will kick off under the lights of Dozier Field tomorrow night, which has been a well-defended haven for the Miners, dating all the way back to the 2021 season. That’s the last time they dropped a game at home, with a strong Brighton squad having rolled into town amidst their own five-game win streak.

The Miners are sure to rely quite heavily on the possibly worn-down legs of team superstar Will McCurdy, who has racked up over 400 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns this year on 59 totes of the football. The same goes for junior quarterback Bash Bodily, who has also shown his effectiveness off the ground through two weeks of action, averaging nearly 7 yards per carry over 13 rushing attempts, with 1 touchdown added.

The game against the Flyers will start at 7 p.m., following the visitors’ near-5 hour trip up into the Wasatch Range. The Miners will then head back on the road next week, traveling into the Valley to battle Hillcrest, currently standing 1-1 and looking for their first winning season in over two decades.

Utes vanquish Weber State, prepare for UCLA contest Saturday

The Utah Utes defeated the in-state Weber State Wildcats Saturday, remaining undefeated on the season as they closed out nonconference play. The Utes did so once again without star QB Cam Rising, who they’ll hope can return from his ACL tear for their conference opener against UCLA Saturday.
