The Park City Point 2 Point mountain bike race returns for the 15th time on Saturday, Sept. 2, with riders from Utah and 19 additional states traversing the town’s trails. True to its name, riders will seldom see a trail more than once as they traverse the courses 75 miles and 10 thousand feet in elevation. Race Director Jay Burke lauded the local, excellent trail system and mentioned that Parkites should come out to see what should be a more competitive race this year without Parkite and Olympian Keegan Swenson amongst the field.
Park City’s mountain biking team incredibly strong, bolstered by diverse group of riders
In what’s traditionally been a male dominated sport, Coach Stoughton has been able to retain these riders due to the welcoming, fun-loving environment of the team. He touched upon the value of these riders, especially the women who he said “are actually going to carry the team, which has always been the case.”
