Parkites shine for Rowmark
Rowmark Ski Academy’s Tommy Hoffman stood atop the podium all three days at the U14 Qualifier at Snowbasin last weekend. Hoffman, a Park City resident, earned the trifecta by winning the slalom and both giant slalom races. Also posting top-15 finishes were teammates Jimmy Bocock (14th in GS, third in slalom) and Parkite Carter Louchheim (14th in slalom).
On the ladies’ side, Park City’s Rowmarkers were well represented with Zoe Michael (fourth in GS, third in slalom 2), Ellie Nichols (ninth in both slaloms) and Danika Mannelin (seventh in GS, eighth in slalom 1) all posting top-10 results in the sunshine at Snowbasin.
Meanwhile, Rowmark’s U16/U19 team traveled to Sun Valley, Idaho, for the Intermountain Cup Qualifier. The men raced to strong finishes all three days, with Scottie Bocock getting the win in the first slalom and second in the other slalom and the GS race. Teammates Greg Olszankyj (sixth in GS, fourth in slalom 2) and Park City resident Jake Bleil (10th in slalom 2) rounded out a solid weekend.
Park City’s Madison Hoffman anchored some impressive results for the ladies in Sun Valley as she won Saturday’s slalom. Teammate Courtney McCabe, who missed nearly a year of racing due to concussion symptoms, had quite the comeback with a sixth-place finish in the second slalom race. Parkites Camryn Glick (10th in GS, eighth in slalom 1 and ninth in slalom 2) and Chloe Fleisher (eighth in slalom 1) also fared well at the qualifier.
The final U16 qualifier is set for Feb. 26-28 in Bogus Basin, Idaho. The U14s will head back to Snowbasin that same weekend for their final qualifier in super G.
