The Canyons Resort



The Canyons Resort is now preparing for winter operations. The resort is scheduled to open Nov. 18, conditions permitting. For more information, call 649-5400 or log onto http://www.the canyons.com.

Trail report

The trails are still open for hiking and biking, but be sure to drink plenty of water! The Mid Mountain Trail is closed from Iron Mountain to The Colony restroom and Mountain Trails warns users that there’s absolutely no through traffic and no access out of White Pine Canyon. Users are also urged to obey all signs. The Rail Trail is closed during the construction at Wanship. Riders can still ride out and back to Wanship and can travel from Coalville to Judd Lane. The construction is slated to last about three months. Mountain Trails is also urging participation in the bike, ride or bus to work on the last Friday of each month. Golfing

Park City Municipal Golf Course is still open for play. This year’s fees are $26 for 18 holes of golf for residents, $40 with a cart; for non-residents the cost is $43 for 18 holes and $57 with a cart. The pro shop is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; tee-time reservations are required. For more information, call 615-5800. Wasatch Golf Course’s fees are $37 for 18 holes with a cart on weekend days and $39 with a cart on weekends. Call the pro shop for a tee time at (435) 654-0532. Soldier Hollow Golf Course – Silver and Gold course: fees are $37 for 18 holes with a cart on weekdays and $39 with a cart on weekends. Wasatch-Cache National Forest

Mirror Lake Highway, S.R. 150, is still open all the way through to Evanston, Wyo. Campgrounds will remain open, weather permitting, through October to accommodate late-season campers and hunters. Prices have been reduced because all water services have been turned off. Rangers urge caution for those hiking and camping through the hunting season. Fire Restrictions

There are currently no fire restrictions in northern Utah. Although fall is in full swing, outdoor fires should still be maintained with caution and common sense.
