Park City Mountain Resort

The Canyons Resort

Utah ski resorts

As of Friday, Jan. 12, the following Utah ski resorts report the following conditions: Alta is reporting a 61-inch snow base with 114 runs and 7 lifts open; Beaver Mountain is reporting 46 inches of snow with 30 runs and 5 lifts open; Brian Head is reporting 44 inches of snow with 54 runs and 7 lifts open; Brighton is reporting a 61-inch snow base with 66 runs and 7 lifts open; Powder Mountain is reporting 52 inches of snow with 83 runs and 6 lifts open.; Snowbasin is reporting a 55-inch snow base with 73 runs and 8 lifts open; Snowbird is reporting 54 inches of snow with 83 runs and 11 lifts open; Solitude is reporting a 56-inch snow base with 62 runs and 8 lifts open; Sundance is reporting 38 inches of snow with 36 runs and 4 lifts open; and Wolf Mountain is reporting a 34-inch snow base with 13 runs and 3 lifts open.

Cross-country skiing

The White Pine Touring cross-country track is now open with 20K of groomed trail. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information on rental prices or lessons, call 649-6249.

Wasatch-Cache National Forest

Mirror Lake Highway, S.R. 150, is now closed at mile marker 14 at Soapstone Basin. All campgrounds are currently closed and the ranger district is waiting for enough snowfall to start grooming cross-country trails. For more information, contact the Kamas Ranger District at (435) 783-4338.

Utah Avalanche Center

The Utah Avalanche Center, as of Friday, Jan. 12, is reporting a generally low avalanche danger on most terrain. However, pockets with a more moderate danger exist, mainly due to sloughing of the new snow on slopes over 35 degrees on all aspects.
