Park City Recreation’s next session of Youth Karate at the PC MARC is July 29 to Aug. 21 on Mondays and Wednesdays for Tiny Tigers (ages 4-6) and Ninjas (beginners). Class times are 3:30-4:15 p.m. for Tiny Tigers and 4:30-5:30 p.m. for Ninjas. Children will build confidence, self-discipline and fitness that will have a positive, lasting effect. Every Monday night in July, lace up your running shoes with your family, friends, kids and colleagues and meet at Newpark Amphitheatre for a one mile-ish fun run along the path overlooking the beautiful Swaner Nature Preserve. Newpark Miles starts at 6:30 p.m., so come walk, jog, run, waddle or race your way towards 224 and then make your way back for some Park City community camaraderie. Basin Rec Guided Hike
Explore Basin Recreation’s vast trail system with a free guided hike on Saturday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. on Flying Dog Trail. Meet at the Bad Apple trailhead behind Burt Brothers in Jeremy Ranch. Hikes last an hour and a half to two hours and the fitness staff will pick a different trail every few weeks for the rest of the summer. See our website for a full list of dates. PC Recreation Family Field Day 5K and 10K
On Sat., July 20, bring the whole family for a 5 or 10K run and kids’ field day events while learning about nutrition, injury prevention and exercise programs to help young athletes perform at their best. The 5K and 10K start at 8:30 a.m. with the free field day and wellness event to follow from 9-11 a.m. at the PC MARC. Flag Football at Basin Rec
Ready, set, hike! It’s time to sign up for Basin Recreation NFL Flag Football. Games and practices will be held at the field house from August 26 through October 18 starting with player evaluations. Fall Soccer at Basin Rec
Fall is fast approaching, so it’s time to sign up for Basin Recreation Fall Soccer. Boys’ and girls’ teams, grades K through 9, will practice and play games twice a week from August 19 to October 12. Intro to Lacrosse
Basin Recreation is partnering with Team Altitude for an introduction to lacrosse program Aug. 5-9 at Trailside Park. The clinic will run 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day. First through third graders will learn the fundamentals of the game and be provided with sticks and eye protection for practice. Cost is $55 per week. Skateboard Camp at Park City Skate Park
Park City Recreation has the area’s best skaters teaching children to skate this summer. Helmets and pads are required with equipment available upon request. Pickleball at the PC MARC
One of the fastest-growing sports in America, Pickleball is now offered at the PC MARC. This fun sport has simple rules and lots of action. Racquet-sport enthusiasts and newcomers are welcome to play on the MARC’s three indoor Pickleball courts Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. Fee is $3 per player. Co-ed Kickball League
Park City Recreation’s Adult Co-ed Kickball League runs Aug. 7 through Oct. 9 on Wednesdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Recreational and competitive divisions are offered. Learn to Swim at Silver Mountain
Youth swim lessons at Silver Mountain Sports Club are offered throughout the summer. There are eight half-hour lessons in each session, with one instructor for every four children. Dog Obedience Classes at the PC MARC

Summer Skate Series
Park City Recreation presents Utah’s premier skate competition series at the Park City Skate Park. The first competition was held June 29, with more to follow throughout the summer. Couples League at PC Golf Club
The Couples League, for beginning to advanced golfers, is new for 2013 at the Park City Golf Club. Handicaps are not used and you do not have to be a member of the USGA. Swim Lessons at Silver Mountain
Silver Mountain Sports Club is now accepting registrations for youth summer swim lessons and swim team. Morning, evening and Saturday lessons are available. The program continues through Aug. 15. Aquafit at the PC MARC
Instructors at the PC MARC will offer a great cardio and water resistance-based workout at the PC MARC leisure pool. Mini Tennis Camp at PC MARC
For ages 3 to 7, Mini Camp at the PC MARC started June 1 with the first of three summer sessions. The second session runs July 1 to Aug. 3 and the third session runs Aug. 5 to 24. Park City Recreation offers a challenging all-day adventure camp for ages 9-14 this summer with six Monday-through-Friday sessions.
