PCHS Boys’ Basketball Meeting
On Wednesday, Sept. 4, there will be a meeting for all boys in grades 9-12 interested in playing basketball for PCHS this coming season. The meeting will be at 2:45 p.m. in Coach Fine’s room (Room 23) at the high school. The meeting will discuss fall workouts, open gyms, skill sessions, AAU games and tryout dates. If you are planning on trying out for the Miners’ boys’ basketball team or even considering trying out, this meeting is for you.
Basin Rec Bike Clinic
Bike with Basin Recreation during a series of adult beginner mountain bike clinics on Sept. 5, 12 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Learn the basics and connect with new riders. Bike-handling skills will include steep inclines and descents, switchbacks, and cornering. Meeting locations are various trailheads (check website). Cost is $10 per clinic. Go Putt Yourself
The Minvitational is making its Park City debut Sunday, Sept. 8, and is built around a foundation of sport, hospitality and good will. The beautiful mini golf course at Canyons will tee up tournament energy, dapper attire and the Minvitational’s most iconic moments. CooperWynn Real Estate & Events is proud to make fun of fundraising and rally some fantastic Parkites to wish our Miners hockey friends the best. $40 per person entry fee with great raffle items and prizes. PCHS Girls’ Lacrosse Fall Ball
It’s time to register for PCHS girls’ lacrosse fall ball. Open to girls in grades 9-12, the season runs from Sept. 9 to Oct. 14. Practices are held every Monday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Knoop Field. Tae Kwon Do at Basin Rec
Learn the fundamentals of self defense in the traditional Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do with Basin Recreation! Youths (ages 8 and above) and adults are invited to take part in the fall session from Sept. 10 through Nov. 26 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Trailside Park Fitness Room. Build character, fitness and discipline in a fun, family-oriented environment with a USTF-certified instructor. Cost is $100 for the entire fall session. Dryland Training at the PC MARC
Dryland Training, designed for those seeking personal-training attention in a group setting, runs Aug. 27 to Oct. 3 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the PC MARC. The program will help increase muscular endurance levels and prepare for seasonal activities. The fee is $145 and deadline to register is Aug. 25. Fall Junior Tennis
Park City Recreation offers Session 1 of Fall Junior Tennis Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 3 to 4:30 p.m., Aug. 26 to Oct. 19. All levels of high school, grades 8-12, are welcome. Team A, for intermediate and advanced tournament players, meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 4:30 to 6 p.m., at City Park. Team B, for beginner and intermediate non-tournament players ages 10-13, plays Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Players ages 3-10 meet Monday to Thursday, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. For info and registration, visit pcrecreation.org or call 615-5400.

Back to Cool
Don’t miss Back to Cool, Monday, Sept. 9, 5:30-6:15 p.m. Try ice skating for the first time or practice your skating and get ready for fall class. Meet with participants from Ice Miner youth hockey, Figure Skating Club of Park City and the Park City Speed Skating Club and learn about their programs. This is a free event (admission and skate rental included).
Skating and Hockey Academy
Skating Academy classes are Monday or Saturday this fall. Hockey Academy classes will be on Tuesdays or Thursdays. New on Tuesdays this fall is Basic Hockey Skating. Primal Move at Silver Mountain
Primal Move is not your typical gym workout. It is a hot new fitness trend that brings back the playful side of exercise. There is purpose, direction, and a primary goal to move and feel better when you leave than when you arrived. It’s perfect for athletes who want to prevent injuries or anyone wanting to improve balance and flexibility. It’s time to sign up for Basin Recreation’s NFL Flag Football. Games and practices will be held at the Fieldhouse from Aug. 26 through Oct. 18 starting with player evaluations. Swing for Sports
Join Basin Recreation for the first Swing for Sports golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Park City Golf Course. All proceeds will help underprivileged youth stay active in sports programs at an affordable cost through the scholarship program. Paddleboard Fitness and Yoga Classes
Park City Standup Paddleboarding offers on-the-water yoga classes every Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. PC SUP also offers paddleboard fitness classes on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. The classes cost $20 each and include a board rental. Pickleball at the PC MARC
One of the fastest-growing sports in America, Pickleball is now offered at the PC MARC. This fun sport has simple rules and lots of action. Racquet-sport enthusiasts and newcomers are welcome to play on the MARC’s three indoor Pickleball courts Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. Fee is $3 per player. Couples League at PC Golf Club
The Couples League, for beginning to advanced golfers, is new for 2013 at the Park City Golf Club. Handicaps are not used and you do not have to be a member of the USGA. Aquafit at the PC MARC
Instructors at the PC MARC will offer a great cardio and water resistance-based workout at the PC MARC leisure pool.
