Little Foot Indoor Soccer Snow is starting to fall, so let’s take the games inside! Basin Recreation’s Little Foot Indoor Soccer will run from Jan. 6 through Feb. 12. Basin Rec Holiday Break Camp The holiday season is here and the kids are ready for a break! Join Basin Recreation’s Holiday Break Camp on Dec. 26-27 and Jan. 2-3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ecker Hill Middle School gym. Early drop-off will be at 8 a.m. and late pickup will be at 5 p.m. Campers must bring lunches, water bottles, swimsuits, and towels. Winter clothes are optional for sledding. White Pine/TUNA Relay Saturday, Dec. 7, White Pine and TUNA will be hosting a 3×5-kilometer fun race, with one leg classic and two free technique legs. Each skier will do one lap around White Pine’s 5K golf course loop. A shorter option is available for youngsters under 12. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. You can form a team there if you don’t have one already. Remember that parking is limited at White Pine, so please car pool. Youth Crew December Bounce The Basin Recreation Youth Crew presents the December Bounce! Kids ages 10 to 13 will head down to WAIRhouse Trampoline Park on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. Drop off and pickup are at the Trailside Park Room (5715 Trailside Drive). Build Your Strength for the Slopes This workshop, scheduled for Dec. 7, from 2-5 p.m. at the Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa/Kimball Junction yoga room, focuses on developing specific strengthening exercises for your core, glutes and lower back to have a stronger, more stable, injury-free ski season. You will learn how to incorporate floor exercises into your daily routine that will specifically target your core and glutes, as well as identify which muscles are needed to generate more strength and power for your ski day. Snowmobile Education Courses With snowmobile season just around the corner, Utah State Parks and Recreation reminds young riders and their parents that state-required youth snowmobile education courses are available online at ohv.utah.gov. Utah law requires youths ages 8 to 16 to complete a Utah State Parks Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Education Course before operating a machine on public lands or trails. Anyone over age 16 without a valid driver’s license must also complete the course to legally operate an OHV on public land. Course fees are $30 and upon successful completion of coursework, students can print temporary certificates and later receive permanent certificates by mail.
