Healthy Holidays Fitness Challenge

Join other Basin Recreation patrons and stay healthy over the holidays by participating in the Healthy Holidays Fitness Challenge. Purchase the Healthy Holidays 12-punch fitness pass for $50 and challenge yourself to take any 12 fitness classes during the month of December to be eligible to win an annual Fieldhouse facility pass with classes. The Healthy Holidays 12-punch pass must be purchased in order to participate in the challenge and can only be used in the month of December. Park City Baseball Tryouts

Park City Baseball will be holding tryouts for its Spring 2016 Competitive 8U-14U teams on Jan. 5 and Jan. 9 at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. All interested players are welcome. Players who will be 8-11 years old on April 30, 2016, should try out Jan. 5 from 4-5:30 p.m. and Jan. 9 from 9-10:30 a.m. Players who will be 12-14 years old on April 30, 2016, should try out Jan. 5 from 5:30-7 p.m. and Jan. 9 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Interested players should attend both tryouts, if possible. The season runs April 16 to June 11 and eight player clinics will be held from January to March. There is no tryout fee, but pre-registration is required. Recreation Advisory Board Member Applications

Are you a Park City resident with an interest in the future of recreation in our town? Apply to be a member of the Recreation Advisory Board. Applications are available at the PC MARC’s front desk or online at ParkCityRecreation.org. The application deadline is Dec. 18.

Adult Ballet

The PC MARC’s Adult Ballet classes, taught by Joanne Rupinskas, focus on traditional ballet technique while emphasizing correct posture and body alignment. Two winter sessions are offered, Jan. 5 to Feb. 11 and Feb. 23 to March 31. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The fee is $145. Youth Karate

PC Recreation’s youth karate program teaches children ages four and up life lessons that build self-esteem, confidence, respect and fitness. Adult Karate

The PC MARC welcomes adults 16 and over to learn the art of Shotokan karate with Sensei Nikki Ikeda. The class accommodates martial arts beginners to those working on black belts while emphasizing improved mental focus, strength and fitness. Adult karate will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. Jan. 4 to Feb. 11. The fee is $72, and the registration deadline is Jan. 6. Juniper Campground to Remain Open

Juniper Campground, located at Rockport State Park, will remain open all winter. The campground will be open with electric hookups only — the water and restroom will be closed. Campers with self-contained camp units can camp for $20 per night on a first-come, first-served basis. The roads and campground will be plowed all winter. Rockport State Park is located in Summit County off I-80 at the Wanship exit (Exit 155). For more information please call the park at 435-336-2241.

Adult Lunch Bunch

Adult Lunch Bunch is held on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. at the Park City Ice Arena. This class is for the adult skater who wants to enjoy some social time on the ice with other adults, learn some new skills and get a great workout. Basin Recreation Jr. Jazz Basketball

Get ready to shoot some hoops! Basin Recreation’s Jr. Jazz Youth Basketball League will run from Jan. 4 to March 4. New Evening Childcare Hours at PC MARC

The PC MARC is now offering evening childcare hours so you can conveniently get your after-work fitness in. Fun and attentive childcare staff will keep children ages one to six entertained Mondays through Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. for just $4 per hour. Cardio Tennis Offerings at the PC MARC

Add an exciting new element to your workout by combining the cardio of tennis with the strength benefits of TRX. The PC MARC is offering both Cardio Tennis and Cardio TRX Tennis designed to improve fitness on and off the court. The high-energy, full-body workout is perfect, whether or not you are a tennis player! Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Basin Recreation is holding open field time for those in adaptive (physical, mental or other limitations) populations and their siblings. New Year’s Day Special Classes

Planning on stepping up your fitness game in 2016? Kick off your New Year’s resolution goals with Basin Recreation on Friday, Jan. 1. There will be plenty of class offerings for every fitness level. The cost is $10 per class. No fitness punch-passes or monthly memberships will be accepted. Group Cycle Class runs from 9-10 a.m. in Studio B. The PC MARC makes working out convenient and affordable for parents. When thinking about that gym pass for the winter, consider the child care that is exclusively for patrons who are on site. Cardio Tennis at the PC MARC

Cardio Tennis combines the best features of tennis with cardiovascular exercise to deliver a full-body aerobic workout. Taught by a tennis professional, Cardio Tennis is held on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the PC MARC. Players of all levels are welcome to enjoy this dynamic workout that uses the agility ladder, cardio stations, cardio balls and music. The class fee is $26. Park City Speed Skating Club

Come join the Park City Speed Skating Club for the new season. PCSSC is a skill-building, fitness-oriented club with an emphasis on fun. Basic skating skills are necessary and all ages are welcome. Practices will take place on Monday evenings from 6:15-8 p.m. and are coached by four-time Olympian Catherine Raney-Norman. The first time is free so come take a lap with PCSSC. A Minor Spin Class

Whether you’re a youth or just young at heart, the PC MARC has a new spin class just for you. Pickleball at the PC MARC

PC Tennis invites those interested in racket sports to discover pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. Head to the PC MARC for a variety of pickleball programming, including drop-in/social play, tournaments, clinics and drills.
