PCHS Hockey Toy Drive

The Park City High School hockey team will host its annual toy drive on Friday, Dec. 12 when the Miners host the Uintah Utes. The drive will benefit the Park City Christian Center. The team asks fans to bring new toys of all kinds game at the Park City Ice Arena at 8:15 p.m. Both PCHS and Uintah will be participating. The Christian Center is creating a Toy Store where 1,400 needy kids can "shop" for free and the hockey team wants to support that cause.

Avalanche Baseball Meeting

Park City Avalanche Baseball will be holding a parent information meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Ecker Hill Middle School auditorium from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Please attend if you would like to learn more about the Spring 2015 baseball program.

Santa at the Fieldhouse

Basin Recreation is hosting its annual Santa at the Fieldhouse event on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Basin Rec is partnering with Newpark Town Center to put on the event. There will be free family holiday photos with Santa Claus from 4-6 p.m., bounce houses and arts and crafts. A $5 family fee or a toy/food donation to benefit the Park City Christian Center will be collected at the entrance. For more information, call The Fieldhouse at 435-655-0999.

Ski with Basin Rec’s Nordic Skiing Program

Learn to Nordic ski (classic or skate) with Basin Recreation. Qualified instructors will lead groups in short lessons and group skiing on our trails. This is a fun way to get the entire family involved in this popular winter sport. Classes are for beginners and intermediate-beginners ages 8 to adult. Session 1 will be on four Sundays — Jan. 11, 18, 25 and Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Session 2 runs at the same time on the next four Sundays — Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28. Session 3 runs on four March Sundays — March 8, 15, 22 and 29 — from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. All sessions cost $35 or there is a $10 charge for just one class. Drop-In Volleyball

The PC MARC is offering Drop-In Volleyball on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9 p.m. until Christmas. All ages and levels are welcome. It’s free for pass holders, and non-members can join the action by paying the facility fee. For more info, visit parkcityrecreation.org or call 435-615-5400.

Jr. Jazz Basketball

Get ready to shoot some hoops! Basin Recreation’s Jr. Jazz basketball will run from Jan. 5 through March 6. Third through eighth graders will play twice a week at Ecker Hill, Treasure Mountain or Trailside Elementary. Player evaluations will be held in early December. Healthy Holidays Fitness Challenge

It’s beginning to look a lot like fitness! Join Basin Recreation for the Healthy Holidays fitness challenge at the Fieldhouse Dec. 1-24. Take 10 of the 16 chosen fitness classes within the time period to be entered to win a free annual pass with a fitness class add-on! Pick up a punch card from the Fieldhouse front desk. A Minor Spin Class

Whether you’re a youth or just young at heart, the PC MARC has a new spin class just for you. Join Brooke on Sundays from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. for a great workout and music at a decibel young people can appreciate. Ages 13 and over are welcome. Hockey Academy

Come to the Park City Ice Arena on Thursdays, Nov. 6-Dec. 18, from 4:30 p.m. until 5:15 p.m., for introductory classes to those aspiring to learn to play hockey or simply learn how to skate in hockey skates. Learn to Play Hockey is for skaters 5-12 years old and Basic Hockey Skating is for new hockey skaters four years and older. Equipment is required for Learn to Play Hockey and highly recommended for Basic Hockey Skating. Equipment may be available to rent for a $15 fee. Please rent equipment at the time of registration and schedule an equipment fitting at least one week prior to the start of class. Indoor Paddleboard Yoga

Though the weather is getting colder, the paddleboard yoga scene is still hot. Join Park City Standup Paddleboarding for indoor paddleboard yoga sessions at the Park City Aquatic Center. Classes will be held at 8 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and at 11 a.m. on Saturdays. The cost is $20, which includes all necessary equipment. Small & Tall with Story Time

This class at the Park City Ice Arena is for preschool-aged children, accompanied by an adult, to gain confidence on the ice and focus on the fundamentals of balancing and having fun on the ice. This program begins with a 20-minute story time at the Ice Arena! Mommy & Me Tennis

PC Tennis offers Mommy & Me clinics, inviting parents to come out with their children to learn the basics of hand-eye coordination, motor skills and other basics of tennis. The clinics are for kids ages 3 to 5 and are offered Tuesdays from 1:15 to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 11:15 a.m. to noon from Oct. 14 to Dec. 18. The fee is $11 per day. Fall Junior Tennis

PC Tennis offers Fall Junior Tennis through Dec. 20. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday sessions are available after school for ages 10-13 and grades 8-12 of all levels. Skills & Drills Basketball Clinics

Does your third through eighth grader want to learn the fundamentals of basketball? Join Basin Recreation for a series of Skills and Drills Basketball Clinics on Fridays until Dec. 12 at the Ecker Hill Middle School gym. Third through fifth grade will meet from 5-6 p.m. and sixth through eighth grade will meet from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Cost is $50 for the first four sessions, $50 for the last four sessions or $80 for all eight sessions.
