PCHS Boys’ LAX Meeting
The Park City High School boys’ lacrosse team will have its spring kickoff meeting on Monday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. in the PCHS auditorium. The team will be going over a lot of critical information about the entire season, including preseason equipment orders. This meeting is mandatory — all players who intend to play in the spring, as well as their parents, are required to attend. Contact email@example.com with any questions.
PCHS Hockey Toy Drive
The Park City High School Hockey team will hold its third annual Toy Toss/Drive after the home game on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Please bring an unwrapped toy or stuffed animal to toss to the players on the ice after the game. Toys will be donated locally to The Christian Center.
Park City Speed Skating Club Races
Come out for an exciting evening of short track speed skating! The Park City Speed Skating Club is hosting Winter Club Races at the Park City Ice Arena on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7:15 p.m. Cheer on local youth skaters as they compete at various distances. Santa at the Park City Ice Arena
Santa will make an appearance at the Park City Ice Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 9. From 5-5:15 p.m., Santa and his elf have a surprise guest for a special ice performance. From 5:15-7 p.m., there will be an open skate and goodies. There will be a performance by the Park City Treble Makers, face painting and photos with Santa. All activities are free. Santa at the Fieldhouse
Santa will be making an appearance at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 3:30-6 p.m. A toy or food item donation, or a $5 donation to benefit the Park City Christian Center, will be used as the entry fee. Recreation Advisory Board Member Applications
Are you a Park City resident with an interest in the future of recreation in our town? Apply to be a member of the Recreation Advisory Board. Applications are available at the PC MARC’s front desk or online at ParkCityRecreation.org. The application deadline is Dec. 18.
Juniper Campground to Remain Open
Juniper Campground, located at Rockport State Park, will remain open all winter. The campground will be open with electric hookups only — the water and restroom will be closed. Campers with self-contained camp units can camp for $20 per night on a first-come, first-served basis. The roads and campground will be plowed all winter. Rockport State Park is located in Summit County off I-80 at the Wanship exit (Exit 155). For more information please call the park at 435-336-2241.
Adult Lunch Bunch
Adult Lunch Bunch is held on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. at the Park City Ice Arena. This class is for the adult skater who wants to enjoy some social time on the ice with other adults, learn some new skills and get a great workout. Basin Recreation Jr. Jazz Basketball
Get ready to shoot some hoops! Basin Recreation’s Jr. Jazz Youth Basketball League will run from Jan. 4 to March 4. New Evening Childcare Hours at PC MARC
The PC MARC is now offering evening childcare hours so you can conveniently get your after-work fitness in. Fun and attentive childcare staff will keep children ages one to six entertained Mondays through Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. for just $4 per hour. Cardio Tennis Offerings at the PC MARC
Add an exciting new element to your workout by combining the cardio of tennis with the strength benefits of TRX. The PC MARC is offering both Cardio Tennis and Cardio TRX Tennis designed to improve fitness on and off the court. The high-energy, full-body workout is perfect, whether or not you are a tennis player! Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Playin’ the Basin Way
Basin Recreation is holding open field time for those in adaptive (physical, mental or other limitations) populations and their siblings. New Year’s Day Special Classes
Planning on stepping up your fitness game in 2016? Kick off your New Year’s resolution goals with Basin Recreation on Friday, Jan. 1. There will be plenty of class offerings for every fitness level. The cost is $10 per class. No fitness punch-passes or monthly memberships will be accepted. Group Cycle Class runs from 9-10 a.m. in Studio B. PC MARC Child Care
The PC MARC makes working out convenient and affordable for parents. When thinking about that gym pass for the winter, consider the child care that is exclusively for patrons who are on site. PC Recreation’s youth karate program teaches children ages four and up life lessons that build self-esteem, confidence, respect and fitness. Intro to Ballroom Dance Class
Basin Recreation has partnered with Ballroom Utah Dance Studio to offer a six-week Intro to Ballroom Dance Class. Ballroom Utah’s professional instructors will introduce a different style of dance each week while progressing through the steps. Styles include the waltz, tango, cha-cha, swing, fox trot and salsa. Instruction will run Fridays until Dec. 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. at The Fieldhouse and Basin Rec will allow an additional hour of play/practice time once the instructor is finished. You do not need a partner to participate. Mother/son and father/daughter couples are more than welcome. Costs are $75 for individuals or $120 per couple. Register online at BasinRecreation.org . Cardio Tennis at the PC MARC
Cardio Tennis combines the best features of tennis with cardiovascular exercise to deliver a full-body aerobic workout. Taught by a tennis professional, Cardio Tennis is held on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the PC MARC. Players of all levels are welcome to enjoy this dynamic workout that uses the agility ladder, cardio stations, cardio balls and music. The class fee is $26. Park City Speed Skating Club
Come join the Park City Speed Skating Club for the new season. PCSSC is a skill-building, fitness-oriented club with an emphasis on fun. Basic skating skills are necessary and all ages are welcome. Practices will take place on Monday evenings from 6:15-8 p.m. and are coached by four-time Olympian Catherine Raney-Norman. The first time is free so come take a lap with PCSSC. A Minor Spin Class
Whether you’re a youth or just young at heart, the PC MARC has a new spin class just for you. Pickleball at the PC MARC
PC Tennis invites those interested in racket sports to discover pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. Head to the PC MARC for a variety of pickleball programming, including drop-in/social play, tournaments, clinics and drills.
