Golf director of the year
The Professional Golfers’ Association of Utah recently named Ryan Kartchner, Promontory’s Director of Golf, the winner of the prestigious Professional of the Year category. The association gives the award to those it deems dedicated to improving the quality of golf in Utah. Under Kartchner’s direction, the private Summit County golf club and community hosted the AJGA Rolex Girls Junior Championship, an international junior event, on its Dye Canyon Course last season.
Warriors start season
The Utah Warriors professional rugby team started its season on Feb. 1 with a 17-9 win over the Austin Elite. The team, which plays at Zions Bank Stadium near Bluffdale, draws players from the local rugby club, Haggis, including starting forward John Cullen. The team’s next home game is on Feb. 23 against the Glendale Raptors. For more information go to warriorsrugby.com.
Foundations Training Brief
The PC MARC is hosting a four-week foundations training workshop that begins Feb. 25 and is held on Mondays from 9-10 a.m. The workshop will teach exercises that will restore natural movement to the body by increasing awareness of improper movements, and halting many of the degenerative processes that cause chronic pain. Pre- and Postpartum Yoga

Winter Camp at PC Marc
The PC MARC is hosting a President’s Week Adventure Camp from Feb. 19 through 22. Each day, campers will participate in challenges at different venues including Trampoline Warehouse and Provo Beach. Biathlon World Cup
Soldier Hollow is hosting the IBU BMW Biathlon World Cup through Sunday, Feb. 17. The event features some of the best biathletes from around the world, as well as live music, food and activities. The event is free to the public. For more information go to biathlonworldcuputah.com.
Lacrosse registration open
Park City Youth Lacrosse has opened registration for the 2019 spring season. To get information about the upcoming season and to register, go to parkcitylacrosse.org and click on “Youth Registration.” The deadline to register is March 11.
