Free Lunchtime Learning at the PC MARC
This month’s Free Lunchtime Learning at the PC MARC will focus on how to transform your mind and body so you can skip traditional dieting. Wellness Coach Gina Van Luven will lead a discussion that will teach participants how to look and feel their best on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at noon. Ice Man Winter Classic
Basin Recreation is hosting the Ice Man Winter Classic, a 4v4 pond hockey tournament, Jan. 30 and 31 at Willow Creek Park. There is a division for every age group from 11 years old to 50-plus and a seven player per team limit. All divisions are coed. There is round-robin seeding on Saturday and finals on Sunday for each division, with a three-game guarantee. The cost for the tournament is $50 per team and each player who donates a winter coat will receive a $5 discount. All donations will be gifted to the Park City Christian Center. Basin Recreation Little League
Calling all coaches! Basin Recreation will transition from its traditional Youth Baseball Program to a Little League International sanctioned Little League Program this spring. Help is needed to make the inaugural season as seamless as possible. Basin Rec is currently seeking additional coaches and team sponsors ahead of the upcoming spring 2016 season. Body Right Fitness Program
Looking for a little help getting your body right for the new year? This 20-session fitness program will provide a healthy all-inclusive approach to help you achieve your fitness goals. The program runs until March 10 every Tuesday and Thursday at The Fieldhouse. The morning group meets from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and the evening group meets from 6 to 7 p.m. The cost is $250 and is pre-pay only (no drop-ins). February Spin Class
Spin your way to fitness with Basin Recreation’s fun group cycle class. The class will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, from 9-10:30 a.m. in Studio B. The cost is $10. Valentine’s Day Fitness Classes
Valentine’s Day means lots of fitness love at Basin Recreation! Come try one or both special Valentines classes on Friday, Feb. 12, at The Fieldhouse. Couples Yoga will run from 6-7 p.m. and Zumba Glow is from 7-8 p.m. Couples get in for free and singles are welcome for $10. Come to either of these classes and get 20 percent off any couples fitness pass — the perfect gift for your loved one. Couples that work out together stay together! February Break Camp
Need a place for your kids to play during the February break? Join Basin Recreation’s February Break Camp Feb. 16-19 for a week of winter fun. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the Ecker Hill Middle School gym. Campers will enjoy games, arts and crafts, swimming and sledding, so be sure to pack a swimsuit, towel, lunch, snacks, helmet and sled. The cost is $40 per day or $120 for four days. The PC MARC’s Adult Ballet classes, taught by Joanne Rupinskas, focus on traditional ballet technique while emphasizing correct posture and body alignment. Two winter sessions are offered, Jan. 5 to Feb. 11 and Feb. 23 to March 31. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The fee is $145. PC Recreation’s youth karate program teaches children ages four and up life lessons that build self-esteem, confidence, respect and fitness. Juniper Campground to Remain Open
Juniper Campground, located at Rockport State Park, will remain open all winter. The campground will be open with electric hookups only — the water and restroom will be closed. Campers with self-contained camp units can camp for $20 per night on a first-come, first-served basis. The roads and campground will be plowed all winter. Rockport State Park is located in Summit County off I-80 at the Wanship exit (Exit 155). For more information please call the park at 435-336-2241.
Adult Lunch Bunch
Adult Lunch Bunch is held on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. at the Park City Ice Arena. This class is for the adult skater who wants to enjoy some social time on the ice with other adults, learn some new skills and get a great workout. New Evening Childcare Hours at PC MARC
The PC MARC is now offering evening childcare hours so you can conveniently get your after-work fitness in. Fun and attentive childcare staff will keep children ages one to six entertained Mondays through Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. for just $4 per hour. Cardio Tennis Offerings at the PC MARC
Add an exciting new element to your workout by combining the cardio of tennis with the strength benefits of TRX. The PC MARC is offering both Cardio Tennis and Cardio TRX Tennis designed to improve fitness on and off the court. The high-energy, full-body workout is perfect, whether or not you are a tennis player! Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Cardio Tennis at the PC MARC
Cardio Tennis combines the best features of tennis with cardiovascular exercise to deliver a full-body aerobic workout. Taught by a tennis professional, Cardio Tennis is held on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the PC MARC. Players of all levels are welcome to enjoy this dynamic workout that uses the agility ladder, cardio stations, cardio balls and music. The class fee is $26. Park City Speed Skating Club
Come join the Park City Speed Skating Club for the new season. PCSSC is a skill-building, fitness-oriented club with an emphasis on fun. Basic skating skills are necessary and all ages are welcome. Practices will take place on Monday evenings from 6:15-8 p.m. and are coached by four-time Olympian Catherine Raney-Norman. The first time is free so come take a lap with PCSSC. Pickleball at the PC MARC
PC Tennis invites those interested in racket sports to discover pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. Head to the PC MARC for a variety of pickleball programming, including drop-in/social play, tournaments, clinics and drills.
