Park City Recreation offers scholarships for youth recreation programs. Qualifying applicants can receive at least 50 percent off program fees. The upcoming spring/summer season has something for every age group; soccer, tennis, swimming, camps, skate, dirt jump and more. You can find fee reduction applications at PCSD schools, the PC MARC or online at http://www.parkcityrecreation.org.
Spring Youth Soccer League
Registration is now open for PC Recreation’s Spring Youth Soccer League for ages 4 to 11. The league is held April 15 to June 3 on Saturdays and/or Wednesdays at the Park City Sports Complex. The $70 fee includes uniform. Parent volunteers are needed to coach every team and head coaches receive a 50% discount on the registration fee. Registration deadline is March 17. Space is limited. Free Lunchtime Learning at the PC MARC
Join chocolate expert Phyllis Robinson for a Free Lunchtime Learning at the PC MARC on Wednesday, March 8, at noon. She’ll lead the way to discovering the basics of food and beverage pairing with various chocolates that will delight and surprise. For information, visit parkcityrecreation.org or call 615-5400.
Park City Water Polo is a USA Water Polo sanctioned competitive club dedicated to teaching young athletes the fundamentals of water polo while developing players’ skills, fitness and game-sense toward advanced levels of play. The Youth (14U) water polo spring season begins March 1. All abilities welcome. Practices are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Park City Aquatic Center at Ecker Hill Middle School. Cost is $100. We are offering newcomers a few weeks of play on March 6, 8 and 10, so players can give the game a try before the March 12 registration deadline. Park City Soccer Club Developmental Academy
PCSC is offering both girls and boys specific Academy sessions for players between the ages of 6 and 9 years old. Led by professional coaches, the primary goals of PCSC Youth Academy are teaching the game of soccer in a fun environment, facilitating a love for the game, and promoting the development of basic skills. Players may sign up for either Wednesday or Friday sessions during the 12-week program, which runs February 15 – May 19. Free PC MARC Admission for Students
During the school year students 6-18 years of age are invited to participate in a wealth of activities at the PC MARC for free when presenting student I.D. Monday – Friday from 2-4 p.m. Activities are unsupervised and include ping pong, gaga ball, the basketball gym, teen area and more. Ages 8 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. The PC MARC’s Youth Tumbling program promotes movement skills, balance, coordination and upper body strength for two to seven year-olds. Choose between three age specific classes offered on Fridays, Feb. 17 to March 24 or Saturdays, Feb. 18 to March 25 at various times at the City Park Recreation Building. The fee is $45 per session. It’s Monday Funday at the PC MARC! Adult Lunch Bunch
Adult Lunch Bunch is held on Wednesdays at noon at the Park City Ice Arena. This class is for the adult skater who wants to enjoy some social time on the ice with other adults, learn some new skills and get a great workout. Beginners and more advanced skaters are welcome. Cardio Tennis Offerings at the PC MARC
Add an exciting new element to your workout by combining the cardio of tennis with the strength benefits of TRX. The PC MARC is offering both Cardio Tennis and Cardio TRX Tennis designed to improve fitness on and off the court. The high-energy, full-body workout is perfect, whether or not you are a tennis player. Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Park City Speed Skating Club
Come join the Park City Speed Skating Club for the new season. PCSSC is a skill-building, fitness-oriented club with an emphasis on fun. Basic skating skills are necessary and all ages are welcome. Practices will take place on Monday evenings from 6:15 to 8 p.m. and are coached by four-time Olympian Catherine Raney-Norman. The first visit is free so come take a lap with PCSSC.
