Intermountain Classic Figure Skating
The Figure Skating Club of Park City is hosting the Intermountain Classic figure skating championships at Park City Ice Arena from Thursday through Sunday. Competitions run from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, 9:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, 10:15 a.m. to 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, and from 7:45 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. on Sunday. The events are free to watch.
Royal Court Pickleball
Beginning March 15, from 12-2 p.m., the PC MARC Gymnasium will be reserved for Royal Court Pickleball. This drop-in program takes the form of round-robin play. Winners stay on the court, losers are sent to the bottom and must work their way back to the top. Royal Court Pickleball is included in monthly facility passes or requires a $7 drop-in fee. The St. Patrick’s Day Tennis Social at the PC MARC is a gathering of tennis enthusiasts. On Friday, March 15, from 5-7 p.m., the PC MARC Tennis Department will host round-robin tennis matches, and will provide snacks, in a networking environment with other community members. The tennis social is a bring-your-own beverage event. Registration is available online at parkcityrecreation.org or by calling 435-615-5400.
Hoop Classic Basketball Tournament
Basin Recreation is hosting the two-day, three-on-three Hoop Classic basketball tournament for third- through eighth-graders. The tournament starts on Friday, March 8, from 4 through 8:30 p.m. and runs through Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Fieldhouse. Registration costs $60 per team. Fun Over Fifty Snowshoe Hike
In Basin Recreation’s Fun Over Fifty snowshoe hike, participants will hike trails in the Uinta Mountains on Friday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This hike for participants ages 50 and up is approximately 4 miles long and is considered moderate in difficulty. The registration cost is $15 and includes transportation. Learn more and register at basinrecreation.org.
Pre- and Postpartum Yoga
The PC MARC offers a pre- and postpartum yoga workshop designed for new and expecting moms. Classes run every Tuesday, 6-7 p.m., through March 19. Full session registration or drop-ins available. Visit parkcityrecreation.org or call 435-615-5400 for more information.
Lacrosse registration open
Park City Youth Lacrosse has opened registration for the 2019 spring season. To get information about the upcoming season and to register, go to parkcitylacrosse.org and click on “Youth Registration.” The deadline to register is March 11.
Shallow Water Lifeguard Training
Basin Recreation is hosting a Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguard Training for participants ages 15 and up to learn rescue techniques in water 5 to 7 feet deep. Topics include water rescue skills, surveillance and recognition, first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies, CPR, AED and more. There will be a mandatory pre-screen testing on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Park City Aquatic Center (Ecker Hill Middle School). The course runs from April 16 to May 4 and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Classes will meet at The Fieldhouse and Park City Aquatic Center.
