Cole Sport Bike Swap

Free Cycling Clinic

Please join the Live Well Center on Tuesday, May 19, for a free cycling clinic with Dr. Max Testa. This clinic will be held at the Silver King Café in the Park City Medical Center located at 900 Round Valley Drive. Participants will learn how to prevent injury and discomfort on a bike and why a proper bike fitting is essential for optimizing performance. First Aid/CPR Course

Make sure you are prepared when an emergency happens by learning First Aid, CPR and AED Skills with Park City Recreation’s one-day course. National Safety Council Instructors will lead the program for those 15 and older from 5:30 to 10 p.m. on Monday, May 18, at the PC MARC. The fee is $50. Playin’ the Basin Way

Basin Recreation is holding open field time for those in the adaptive (physical, mental or other limitation) populations and their siblings on Saturday, June 12 and July 11, from 4-6 p.m. at The Fieldhouse. Rail Trail Closure

The Rail Trail is now closed under the bridge around mile post 153 between Promontory and Wanship. Due to construction in the Silver Creek area, it will remain closed throughout the summer and into the fall. Recreational users can still use most of the trail from Promontory or Wanship toward the bridge, but won’t be able to cross all the way through. The Utah Department of Transportation anticipates completing construction by mid-October, but that depends on weather conditions.

Park City Soccer Club Team Tryouts

Park City Soccer Club is holding free Competitive Team tryouts May 18-30. Park City Soccer Club offers competitive soccer programs for boys and girls age 6-18. Black Diamond Soccer Club Team Tryouts

Black Diamond Soccer Club is holding open tryouts for its Girls’ Under-10, Girls’ U12, Boys’ U9 and Boys’ U11 teams. Tryouts for Girls’ U10 and Boys’ U9 will be held Tuesday, May 19, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. Pre-Comp Swim Team

Swimmers ages 6 to 14 wishing to compete at a recreational level will benefit from coaching on stroke technique, speed and endurance by taking part in this summer’s Pre-Comp Swim Team at the PC MARC lap pool. PCHS Youth Boys Basketball Camp

Featuring Coach Fine, his staff and players, the PCHS Youth Boys Basketball Camp will be held at the Park City High School gymnasiums June 8-10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $70 for pre-registration through June 1 and $80 for on-site registration. Youth Dirt Jump Camp

PC Recreation’s dirt jump instructors will help children excel in the sport of progressive mountain biking with clinics for all levels of riders held at the Park City Dirt Jump Park. Ages 8 to18 are welcome to enroll in the five sessions that are offered beginning June 8. Camps are held Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon, and the fee is $80 per session. Junior Golf Camps

These clinic style camps at the Park City Golf Course will cover all areas of the game of golf. Each clinic includes safety, grip, stance, putting, chipping, full swing, course etiquette and rules. Golf clubs will be furnished if needed. Each camp is four days, including a Play Day. The Play Day includes a lunch following play on the golf course. The camps run June 8-10 (Play Day June 11), June 15-17 (Play Day June 18) and June 22-24 (Play Day June 25) from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The cost is $165 per session and sign-up is available at any time at Park City Golf Course.

Skateboard Camp

PC Recreation has lined up Park City’s best skaters for our Summer Skateboard Camp to teach children the basics and new tricks at the Park City Skate Park. Red Cross Lifeguard Course

Learn the skills that allow for a safe day at the pool with the Red Cross Lifeguard Course offered by Park City Recreation. This certification course is for those 15 and older. The Hiking Club

Learn new trails and meet like-minded enthusiasts with Basin Recreation’s "The Hiking Club," a Fun Over Fifty affiliate. With three tiers, The Hiking Club is sure to offer something for everyone. The free "Level 1: Walk n’ Roll Hikes" begin at The Fieldhouse and conclude at the Newpark Free Concert Series every Thursday from 4-6 p.m. These hikes are great for the new hiker or anyone simply looking for fun social exercise. If you get bored, try "Movin’ On Up: Level 2" ($5 every other Friday). These hikes are varied difficulties and range from 3-7 miles in distance. Still bored? Check out "Level 3: Up, Up and Away Hikes" ($10 every other Friday). These are the biggest and boldest peaks in the Wasatch, which means there is some travel time and great photo ops. This gradual approach to hiking and exercise allows you to decide when to take the next step.

Co-ed Summer Nights Volleyball League

PC Recreation invites adults for summer evening fun on the sand volleyball courts in City Park. Co-ed Summer Nights Volleyball League is 4v4 play from June 2 to July 28 on Tuesdays, 6 to 10 p.m. The fee per team is $225, and the registration deadline is May 26. Come to MayDay PlayDay: A Basin Recreation Community Event on Saturday, May 30, from 12-4 p.m. Basin Rec has planned an afternoon of fun park events for kids and adults. A cornhole tournament (The Cornhole Classic), a youth sand volleyball tournament, pickleball clinic, ParCourse outdoor fitness class, ultimate Frisbee community pick-up game, disc golf demo and dog agility park training are some of the activities sure to make MayDay PlayDay a fun event. Start of Summer 2015

Join Basin Recreation for the StART of Summer Color Run on Saturday, June 20, at Willow Creek Park. Join Basin Recreation at The Paint Mixer for "a night filled with fun and unique entertainment." As part of the new Fun Over Fifty recreation category, Basin Recreation has scheduled some painting parties at The Paint Mixer. Unleash your inner artist and join a fun group for a two-hour step-by-step instruction led by a local artist. Give it a ‘TRI’ Fitness Program

Can you swim two lengths in the pool? Can you complete an indoor cycling class? Can you walk or jog around the block? You can be ready for your first triathlon with Basin Recreation’s Give it a "TRI" — a Triathlon Fitness Program for beginners! This six-week program will introduce you to the elements of a triathlon and have you ready for a race. The program runs April 14 through May 21 every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Ecker Hill Aquatic Center or The Fieldhouse. The cost is $125 for 12 sessions. Running Fitness Program

Get into summer shape and enjoy the view from beautiful trails with Basin Recreation’s Running Fitness Program. All running levels are welcome. Basin Recreation Ultimate Frisbee League

Ultimate Frisbee is Basin Recreation’s newest way to play! Ultimate is a fast-paced frisbee game similar to soccer and football, but uses a rule set all its own. This co-ed league will feature 10 regular season matches and a double-elimination tournament. Individual registration means you do not have to have a whole team to sign-up, but you can register with a friend ("baggage") if you prefer. Teams drafted based on playing experience.
