Hole-in-One

Terry Shapard recorded a hole-in-one at Soldier Hollow Sunday, Oct. 18. Playing Hole No. 3 on the Silver Course, Shapard used a pitching wedge for the 96-yard shot. The ace was witnessed by Steve Shapard.

Rugby at City Park

The Park City Haggis rugby club has a home game scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, against Boulder RFC. The game will take place at City Park at 1 p.m.

Home Composting Workshop

Join Recycle Utah at the PC MARC for an evening of composting basics and learn how you can improve your environment by adding nutrient rich humus back into your garden. The PC MARC is offering free select-group fitness classes to get Parkites through the winter season. Dryland Training

The PC MARC is offering a customized Dryland Training program for individuals seeking personal training in a high-energy group setting. The class will be held Nov. 2 to Dec. 14 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Led by two-time Olympian and fitness coach Jillian Vogtli, the program is designed to increase muscular endurance just in time for ski season. Fall Junior Tennis at the PC MARC

Intro to Ballroom Dance Class

Basin Recreation has partnered with Ballroom Utah Dance Studio to offer a six-week Intro to Ballroom Dance Class. Ballroom Utah’s professional instructors will introduce a different style of dance each week while progressing through the steps. Styles include the waltz, tango, cha-cha, swing, fox trot and salsa. Instruction will run Fridays from Nov. 6 to Dec. 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. at The Fieldhouse and Basin Rec will allow an additional hour of play/practice time once the instructor is finished. Apex Volleyball Tryouts

Apex Volleyball tryouts will be held in mid-November. Pre-club training is already underway. Both teams had great seasons in 2015 and enjoyment ratings from everyone were very high. Apex is also looking to add a couple of new coaches for this year. Volleyball is one of the fastest-growing sports and it is also the third most popular high school sport for girls. There were more than 500 teams in Utah playing in the various age groups last year. Cardio Tennis at the PC MARC

Cardio Tennis combines the best features of tennis with cardiovascular exercise to deliver a full-body aerobic workout. Taught by a tennis professional, Cardio Tennis is held on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the PC MARC. Players of all levels are welcome to enjoy this dynamic workout that uses the agility ladder, cardio stations, cardio balls and music. The class fee is $26.
