U.S. Aerials Team named
December 16, 2014
The 2015 U.S. Freestyle Aerials team was announced this week ahead of the FIS World Cup opener in Beijing, China, Dec. 20-21.
With three-time Olympian Emily Cook now an alumna, Sochi Olympians Mac Bohonnon (Madison, Connecticut) and Ashley Caldwell (Ashburn, Virginia) will lead the squad this season.
"I am so excited for this season," Bohonnon said. "Oftentimes, there is a big turnover in athletes, leaving a gap in depth after an Olympic year. That is not the case at all for our team. We have a young, motivated and extremely talented group of athletes, all of whom are excited to get on the road and do what we do best. I predict there will be a lot of success for the entire U.S. Aerials team this winter, and I encourage everyone to follow along and be a part of it."
The World Cup tour comes to the U.S. Jan. 8-10 for the Visa Freestyle International at Utah’s Deer Valley Resort and Jan. 29-31 for the Putnam Freestyle World Cup in Lake Placid, New York.
This season, athletes will also compete at the 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships in Kreischberg, Austria, Jan. 14-25.
