Park City movie theater lists no screening times with bankruptcy proceeding against parent
There are no scheduled screenings at Holiday Village 4 Cinemas, pointing to at least the temporary closure of the only commercial movie theater inside Park City.
Holiday Village 4 Cinemas is under the umbrella of Metropolitan Theatres Corporation. That firm filed for bankruptcy.
The Metropolitan Theatres website calendar on Friday morning did not list any screenings for Holiday Village 4 Cinemas. There were also no special events listed at the location. The Redstone 8 Cinemas, also with Metropolitan Theatres, on Friday continued to list screening times.
A representative of Metropolitan Theatres did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
The message on the phone line for the local theater indicated the numeric option for movies and showtimes was invalid.
If the Holiday Village 4 Cinemas is dark for an extended period or closes permanently, there could be ripple effects since there is not another commercial theater inside Park City and it occupies a large space. There could be impacts on some of the businesses in Holiday Village close to the theaters that attract movie-goers before or after films.
Holiday Village 4 Cinemas, meanwhile, is also a longtime Sundance Film Festival venue and screenings were held there in January. The potential loss of the availability of any of the theaters could impact the festival’s planning for the 2025 event if organizers intended to screen films there next year.

The more bookstores, the better.”
